I was raised to believe that faith and business are separate domains. Decades of running companies taught me the opposite. The man who operates from faith has a decision-making architecture that the purely secular executive does not. When the deal falls apart, when the market turns, when the team fragments — the faith-first executive has an anchor that holds when external conditions cannot.

What God-First Leadership Looks Like in Practice

• Morning prayer before market review. Every day starts with prayer and Scripture. Not as ritual — as alignment. Before I review energy positions or deal flow, I align with what I am actually building and why.
• Decisions filtered through principle, not just profit. At Ikon Group Investments and Ikon Midstream, I have walked away from deals that were financially sound but ethically questionable. The standard is consistent across domains.
• Charitable governance as faith expression. I chair the board of IKON KIDS, a Christian children’s charity in Houston. This is not separate from business leadership — it is the most important board I sit on. If my business success is not producing community good, the standard is not being fully held.
• The peace dividend. The executive who operates from faith sleeps better than the one operating from fear or ego. This is not spiritual language — it is a performance advantage.
