THE FULL STORY

Who Is Rhett Kenagy?

The 76-lb transformation. The holding company. The Harvard coursework. The faith foundation. The operator morning routine. Here is the complete story — unfiltered.

The Beginning: Left Home at 17

I left home at 17 with no safety net, no blueprint, and no one to call. Most people would call that a disadvantage. I call it the day the standard got set. When necessity is your teacher, you learn the most important lesson available: no one is coming to save you. The only direction from that moment was up.

Building Ikon Group: 20+ Years of Operating

Over two decades, I built Ikon Group Investments into a diversified holding company operating across real estate, oil and gas, automotive, medical waste recycling, and aircraft chartering. Simultaneously, I served as Executive Director of Ikon Midstream LLC, overseeing energy operations across the U.S. and Latin American markets. I also chair the board of IKON KIDS, a Christian children’s charity serving Houston families.

The Crisis: 256 Lbs, Two Heart Attacks, Three Stents

Nobody knew how bad it was. Not really. The gut inflammation mismanaged for years. The arterial health that should have slowed me down. The cervical spine — six herniated discs — that made every morning a negotiation with pain. And through all of it, I kept running the companies. I kept showing up. But I was not holding the full standard.

The first heart attack came in 2013. A second, more serious cardiac event and emergency procedure followed at age 47 — three new stents replacing the originals. Most men do not get a second warning. I got one, and I still did not fully change course until the scale read 256.

The physical standard had drifted. Not because of laziness — because of prioritization. The business came first. The family came first. The personal physical standard got the remainder. That approach put me at 256 lbs, with a cardiac history that most men my age do not survive.

The Transformation: 256 to 180 lbs at 50

The decision was simple: raise the standard or accept the decline. I chose the standard. Seven months later: 180 lbs, 76 lbs released, stronger than I had been in years. Not through a program. Not through a trainer. Through a system I built, tested, and now teach.

The follow-up cardiology workup confirmed what the discipline had done on the inside, too: my heart function came back. That is not a promise for every reader — individual results vary, and this is not a substitute for medical advice. It is, however, the reason I teach this system instead of just living it quietly.

The Bridge: One Standard, Two P&Ls

Raise the Standard is not a side project bolted onto IKON — it is the same operator running the same system on a different scoreboard. Building a diversified holding company across energy, healthcare, real estate, aviation, and life sciences takes the same discipline as reversing a 256-lb, two-heart-attack decline: audit the truth honestly, build a system instead of relying on willpower, execute daily without exception, and measure the result. I applied the operating principles that built IKON to my own body. The comeback and the company were built by the same standard.

Raise the Standard: The Mission

I built the Raise the Standard platform because too many men in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are running everything on the outside while losing ground on the inside. They have the business, the house, the family — and they are falling apart physically, spiritually, and mentally. The standard that built the external success needs to be applied to the internal architecture too.

That is what I teach. That is what I live. Follow the daily standard at @rhettkenagy1 on Instagram.
