TRAINING — TRAVEL PROTOCOL
How to Train in a Hotel Gym: The Traveling Executive Protocol
Business travel is the number one excuse high-performing men give for breaking their training protocol. Rhett Kenagy built the 7-Month Blueprint to be travel-proof — because an operator who can only perform his protocol in ideal conditions has not built a protocol. He has built a preference.
The Hotel Gym Reality
Most hotel gyms have dumbbells, a cable machine, a treadmill, and a bench. That is enough to run a complete protocol if you know what you are doing. Here is how Rhett’s clients approach hotel training:
The 45-Minute Hotel Gym Protocol
- Warm-up (5 min): Row machine or treadmill incline walk. Prime the joints.
- Push (10 min): Dumbbell press — flat then incline. 4 sets of 10–12.
- Pull (10 min): Cable row or dumbbell row. 4 sets of 10–12.
- Squat or Hinge (10 min): Goblet squat or Romanian deadlift with dumbbells. 3 sets of 12–15.
- Metabolic finisher (10 min): Farmer carries + push-up complex + dumbbell swing circuit.
Nutrition While Traveling
- Protein-first at every meal regardless of restaurant or hotel breakfast selection
- Travel with protein bars or single-serve protein packets for gap coverage
- Identify the nearest grocery store within the first hour of arrival
- Order steak and eggs, salmon, or chicken at client dinners — skip the bread
How do you maintain a transformation protocol while traveling for business?
Train every morning in the hotel gym using compound movements with available dumbbells and cables. Prioritize protein at every meal. Maintain the 4:45 AM protocol regardless of timezone adjustment.

No More Excuses on the Road
Travel breaks the standard for most men because they never built a hotel-gym version of their system in advance. Pair this with the full training protocol in the 7-Month Transformation Blueprint.
FAQ
What if the hotel gym has almost no equipment?
Bodyweight compound movements and resistance bands can maintain the standard even in a nearly empty hotel gym.
