NUTRITION PROTOCOL
Meal Prep for Busy Men: The Executive Nutrition System
The executive who says he does not have time to eat well is making the same excuse as the executive who says he does not have time to sleep. Both are self-destructive. Both are choices. Here is the system.
The Time Reality of Executive Nutrition
I run eight companies. I complete coursework at Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan, and Wharton. I train every morning at 5:15 AM. I chair a charity board. And I eat well every single day. Time is not the constraint — decisions are.
The Executive Meal Prep Framework
- Sunday 90-minute prep window. This one investment covers the entire week’s protein base. Grill or bake chicken, ground turkey, or bison in bulk. Roast vegetables in bulk. Cook rice or sweet potatoes in bulk. The decisions are made on Sunday so that every weekday is execution, not deliberation.
- Protein-first decision tree. Every meal starts with the protein question: what is my protein source? Everything else follows. This eliminates the “I’ll just grab something” decision that derails most executives.
- Travel kit. When traveling between companies, cities, or board meetings: protein bars (clean label), individual nut butter packs, hard-boiled eggs, and a shaker with protein powder. The executive who travels unprepared eats airport food and pays the hormonal price.
- Restaurant protocol. Houston is a business dinner city. The protocol is simple: protein and vegetables, limit starch, no alcohol. The menu at any restaurant can accommodate this. The standard does not take days off.
Prep Once, Execute All Week
Meal prep isn’t about perfect cooking — it’s about removing decision fatigue from the one area that determines whether the rest of the system holds up. Pair it with the Protein Optimization protocol.
FAQ
How much time does real meal prep actually take?
Most executives can prep several days of meals in under 90 minutes once the system is dialed in — the time investment shrinks fast after the first few weeks.
