Harvard MBA + Running 3 Companies: How I Did Both
The Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program (OPM67) is not a traditional MBA. It’s designed for owners and presidents of established companies. When I enrolled, I was simultaneously running Ikon Midstream, managing investments across real estate and aviation, and in the middle of my physical transformation.
How I Made It Work
Systems. Delegation. Non-negotiable priorities. I didn’t “find” time — I engineered it. The 4:45 AM morning gave me study time before the market opened. The discipline I’d built in the gym transferred directly to the academic demands of OPM.
The Lesson
Most men underestimate how much capacity they actually have. The constraint isn’t time. It’s standards. When you raise your standard, you naturally rise to the new level of output required to meet it.
The Standard Doesn’t Split Between Business and Body
Running three companies while completing an executive MBA isn’t a scheduling trick — it’s the same discipline system applied twice. The men who treat fitness as separate from business performance are the ones who burn out at 50. See how this plays out in the Ikon Group Investments story.
FAQ
Can you really run multiple companies and prioritize fitness at the same time?
Yes — but only if fitness is treated as a non-negotiable system, not an optional extra squeezed in when time allows.
